What do you do with the waste you collect?
~ We dispose of the pet waste we collect by environmentally friendly means primarily by anaerobic digestion and the capturing of renewable natural gas. Other environmentally friendly means we may use are the sewage treatment plant, composting which generate soil for ornamental plants or sod farming. We uphold the city bylaws, prevent the needless accumulation of millions and millions of plastic bags filled with pet waste that find their way to our land fills each year by our exclusive use of compostable bucket liners and help to prevent the spread of disease and parasitic infections. Turd Wranglers is a green company and we strive to do the best thing for the environment when it comes to the treatment and disposal of the materials we collect. We are big into research and development and are always looking for new and better innovations when it comes to what cannot be processed in this manner (such as certain forms of kitty litter), that is why even our bucket liners are compostable!
No, you are welcome to be there but you do not need to be.
We do ask that your bucket be left out in the front of your house in view of the street and always in the same place so our Wrangler can find it easily.
No, we will look after supplying the bucket and liners and we look after tying off the bucket liner. We just ask that you don't overfill the bucket as we need to be able to tie up the compostable bag inside.
We pick up the contents of the bucket curbside once per week on a designated day and we re-line the bucket with a fresh bag. On those rare occasions that you forget to put it out for us,
If it's not out at the curb and we know where you keep it we will go and get your bucket if we have the time. Please remember to put your bucket out in front of your address and always in the same obvious location for us to pick it up.
Dog-walk bags are not to be disposed of in the bucket. We ask that you empty your bags into the bucket and dispose of the plastic bags with your household garbage. Pooch Papers, paper towels, newspaper, toilet paper and "Kleenex" are all permitted in our buckets.
If you use your bucket for disposal of dog-walk bags or any other garbage or there are rocks, sticks or toys inside, we will not take the
contents, but you will be charged for our visit. If you bury bags or garbage in the bucket that makes it back to our facility a substantial fine
will be levied on your account to cover the additional costs for sorting.
Kennel buckets are a residential bucket service for those with litters of puppies, more than one giant breed dogs or a combined number of dogs that will create more waste than a one or two medium sized dog household. Basically anything more than 1/2 of our standard 15litre bucket full per week. We will provide you an extra bucket or more to suit your needs, we will charge you by the bucket.
Dog-walk bags are not to be disposed of in the bucket. We ask that you empty your bags into the bucket and dispose of the plastic bags with your household garbage. Pooch Papers, paper towels, newspaper, toilet paper and tissue papers are permitted in our buckets.

will be levied on your account to cover the additional costs for sorting.
Bi-weekly bucket service means we come once every second week to pick up the contents of the bucket, rather than weekly. To qualify for a bi-weekly bucket service the amount of dog waste must be ten liters or less of accumulation in a two week period.
Dog-walk bags are not to be disposed of in the bucket. We ask that you empty your bags into the bucket and dispose of the plastic bags with your household garbage. Pooch Papers, however, are permitted in our buckets.

contents, but you will be charged for our visit. If you bury bags or garbage in the bucket that makes it back to our facility a substantial fine

NO. To many people were using bags that were not flushable. The digester system cannot break down compostable doggy bags fast enough and cannot break down plastic at all. Plastics and biodegradable bags are not environmentally friendly and damage the systems we use and are a pollutant. We used to take them but people continued to use the wrong bags and we had no choice but to refuse dog walk bags.
Compostable bags are made up partly of organic ingredients and will break down into soil whereas biodegradable bags are made up of plastics that break down into smaller and smaller particles of plastic which add to earth's pollution.
For dog buckets we accept newspaper, but not pee pads as they are not compostable and they, like dog-walk bags plug up our machinery. If you will be using newspaper and/or compostable (NOT BIODEGRADABLE) pee-pads we can provide you with one of our special plastic-like compostable bags in addition to your bucket, this type of waste must be processed separately from the other waste materials we collect.
NO. Dog waste and other types of pet waste are not treated the same when it comes to processing. We do offer buckets for cats and take bags of shavings and small pet bedding as well. If you have several different types of pets in your family we have combination plans to save you money.
Yes and No. We offer a kitty litter bucket service but will not take clay nor sand litters. The ONLY type of kitty litter we can take/process is organic and compostable such as paper (such as yesterday's news), corn, walnut or wood pellet.
Yes, but we are seldom available for this service. There is a substantial charge for the handling of your kitty litter pans.
No. Kitty litter is not water soluble and contains more serious pathogens than dog waste. It must be handled differently than
dog waste. We take our green earth friendly philosophy very seriously.
Our buckets are 15 litres in size, we ask that they not be filled more than half-way each week. If you have more waste than that, additional buckets may be used. We will bill $5 for each additional bucket per week.
Bucket services start at just 5.77 per week. For more information contact us or go to our services page and click on the "more information and pricing" button.
No, you are welcome to be there but you do not need to be.
We love dogs and enjoy interacting with those that are friendly and playful BUT if your dog is fearful or aggressive we ask that he/she be kept indoors during our visits. If you need a "heads up" phone call let us know, we can have our Wrangler give you a call 10-15 minutes prior to arrival so that you can make sure your dog is not out in the yard.
For Round-Up service we charge an additional $1.25 per extra dog each week.
Puppies are cute! We love puppies! Puppies also poop far more frequently each day than a grown dog. Once there are puppies to look after we must work much harder so we will switch your account billing to kennel service rates until the puppies have gone to their new furever homes.
For Round-Up service the answer is yes, it would still be a weekly service. For a bucket service we would recommend a bi-weekly curbside pick up,
it's all you will need.
No, the bucket is provided to you for your convenience, it is great to have if you need to scoop between our visits and there is no charge for using it for dog turds only UNLESS there is more poop (Round Up and Bucket combined) in a week than there should be for the number of dogs we are billing for.
Yes, rain, hail or sunshine we scoop in all weather. The only time we can't scoop if if there is significant new snow coverage, during natural disasters or severe weather advisory when it would be dangerous for our Wranglers to be out in the elements.
No, we never feed anything to your pets without your permission.
Yes, if we observe strange behavior or indications of health problems evident in the stools we will leave you a note card. We will even let you know if we find that your gates were not secured or there were doors left opened when we visited. Will will call you in any emergency situation.
Yes, our Wranglers will work rain or shine with the exception of dangerous weather conditions like poor roads due to snow and ice, or severe weather warnings that could affect the safety of our Wranglers. If the roads are not safe, or there is a fresh snow-fall covering the turds we cannot scoop. We will pick up buckets for customers subscribing to our bucket service (unless snow has fallen the majority of the week hiding all the turds so that you could not scoop the day before or most days.) If your regularly scheduled service day falls on these dangerous road days or snow days we will pick up on the next week's scheduled day or "catch up" on the next service date that the weather conditions subside.
We only ask that you refrain from watering the lawn the evening before and the day of our scheduled weekly service. If you have an automated sprinkler system please ensure it is not set to come on during these times. Thank you for your cooperation!
Sometimes. Our Wranglers are given the choice to work on Statutory Holidays or not. Some of our Wranglers prefer to not get "behind" and need to work twice as hard to catch up on the "load" the following visit.
If your regularly scheduled service day falls on a holiday, just remember that we will be working twice as hard to pick up twice the "load" the following week so we do charge for these days.
Christmas and New Year's day are exactly one week apart, will the Wrangler miss both holidays? If your Wrangler will need New Year's day off they will contact you by e-mail to let you know which day (just before or after January 1st) your service will be done in place of New Year's day. After all, we don't want to miss two weeks in a row, and we're sure you wouldn't want that either!
Yes, our Wranglers will have to work doubly hard and take on much more volume of turds when services resume. Our Wranglers work their butts off in these circumstances to get the then much bigger and heavier job all cleaned up. This is why we bill for each week even when we are forced to miss one due to reasons beyond our control and the service days listed that we are closed for holidays. We do not credit for these missed days.
Weekly Round Up services start at just 12.86 per week. For more information contact us or go to our services page and click on the "more information and pricing" button.
We bill on an equal monthly basis, the invoice is delivered to your email on the 1st of each month and your payment is due by the 25th of the month. Once payment is received by us your service is provided for the following month. Billing should be simple, predictable and easy to understand - that is why we use the equal-pay method. eg. bill arrives February 1, paid on or before February 25, now that you have paid we will go ahead and provide your services for March.
Yes, there are two ways this can be done. You can provide us with your credit card information and we can debit it monthly or if you bank with a Credit Union you can set up scheduled bill payments.
Yes, If you prepay for 6 months we will give you a discount of 2%. If you make a Lump sum payment for 12 months of service we will give you a discount of 5%.
Yes, we offer discounts to our Seniors age 70+ (with proof of identity), anyone with a service dog, and the disabled, as we believe in the power of the Human-Animal Bond!
Payments are due by the 25th of each month to continue service into the next month. Since residential services must be pre-paid your services may be interrupted if no payment is made by the deadline, and will be interrupted if no payment is received by the first of the month.
We will do our best to contact you right away. Avoid service interruptions by keeping us up to date with your credit card information. If your credit card information or expiry date is changed please call us so that we can update it in our system. Do not send credit card information by email. Since residential services must be pre-paid your services may be interrupted if no payment is made by the deadline, and will be interrupted if no payment is received by the first of the month. Interest will begin to accrue on overdue residential invoices on the first of each month. Billing will continue even when we have suspended services unless you provide us with written notice that you no longer need or are temporarily suspending our service. If you are a corporate account carrying a balance, there is no interest but rather a late payment fee added if no payment is made onto your account on each billing cycle. NSF fees are added to account balances if there is ever a returned cheque.
If your account is left in arrears with no communication from you, additional fees will be added to you outstanding debt as well as your account will given to our collections department.
One week's notice is all we require. Notice must be in writing by snail mail or by email. Non-payment is not considered notice.
Not unless you have a larger than usual back yard or are outside the scope of our service area, have a rock area or we find dog-walk bags or garbage in any of your buckets, or if your bucket(s) are overloaded.
ALSO If we discover you have puppies or more dogs than you signed up for there are additional charges levied. There's no fooling a Wrangler, we can tell how many dogs by the number of poops in your yard and if we are picking up the expected number of turds and you also have a bucket full you can expect to pay for both services.
There are no surprises. We like to keep things simple and honest, and hope that our customers will be honest and up front with us as well. We will let you know exactly what you will be paying upfront.
Yes our services are GST applicable but not PST applicable. The GST charges are shown on your invoice along with our GST number.
For Round-Up customers we charge an additional $1.25 per extra dog each week. For bucket customers as long as the bucket is no more than 1/2 - 2/3-filled it does not matter how many dogs you have.
Puppies are cute! We love puppies! Puppies also poop far more frequently each day than a grown dog so we might add a small surcharge to cover the extra time/work.
If you have a litter of puppies, yes it will cost you more. To save money you may want to consider a residential kennel bucket and scoop up on your own. Once there are puppies to look after we switch your account billing to kennel service rates until the puppies have gone to their new furever homes.
No, the bucket is provided to you for your convenience, it is great to have if you need to scoop between our visits and there is no charge for using it for your own dogs turds only UNLESS there is more poop combined than there should be for the number of dogs on your account.
